(in case you wonder what the poster shows: this is the tunnel of a historic coal mine, called "Zeche Nachtigall", not far from Bommerholz, combined with a photo of the DELTA electron storage ring at the TU Dortmund)
The Terascale Accelerator School 2009 will be at held at Universitätskolleg Bommerholz, 58456 Witten-Bommerholz 7-11 September.
Main topics are:
- Introduction to Accelerator Physics
- Large Hadron Collider
- Linear Colliders
- Superconducting RF Structures
- Synchrotron Radiation
- Novel Accelerator Concepts
The school covers the physics and engineering concepts of relativistic accelerators and colliders. The programme comprises introductory lectures into the concepts of modern accelerators. The afternoons are reserved for student exercises that are discussed and evaluated.
The school is directed at students that have completed the physics base courses, typically 6 semesters. PhD students or young postdocs seeking deeper understanding of the accelerators that provide the data for HEP collisions are equally welcome.
Registration is now open. A school fee of 10 € has to be paid at the registration desk upon arrival.
Accomodation is available at the Universitätskolleg Bommerholz
