The Universitätskolleg Bommerholz is situated at the edge of civilization, in the forest of Bommern, within the municipality of Witten, about 15 km from Dortmund. The address is:

By air

The closest international airport is Düsseldorf, and there are trains from this airport to Dortmund main station. A couple of airlines offer short-distance flights directly to Dortmund airport, and the AirportExpress bus takes you to the main station in 22 minutes. From there, proceed as described below. For those arriving with their own private aircraft, Dortmund airport has moderate landing fees and overnight parking is available.

By car

The closest autobahn exit is “Sprockhövel” on A43. Turn east on B51 (not towards Sprockhövel) and after 1 km north on Wittener Straße, which becomes Bommerholzer Straße after a while.
If coming from any other direction, you will eventually pass through Bommern. At a major junction in this town, take Elberfelder Straße to Sprockhövel. This road becomes Bommerholzer Straße after a few km.

By rail and bus

Take a train to Dortmund Hauptbahnhof (main station) and proceed by S5 or RE4 (regional trains) to Witten Hauptbahnhof, or take a train to Bochum Hauptbahnhof and proceed by S1 or RE16 to Witten Hauptbahnhof. From Witten, the Universitätskolleg can be reached by bus. Examples of bus connections on Monday, September 7th are:
