here is a summary of the MC group meeting on 28. Feb 2008.

* Announcements
 -  monthly GENSER – HEPMC meeting: 5 March 16:30
 - Position for Leader of Analysis Center 
selection committee is active and has produced a short list out of 19 applications. Members of the analysis center are invited to listen to the presentations of the candidates on Wednesday March 12.
- DESY directorate approved the tenure track MC position. Now the advertisement has to be formulated.
- Poster and announcement of MC school is out

* Discussion on web based tools
  G. Brandt presented some new ideas on web based tools. Discussion whether to use something similar to hepforge or savannah. After some feedback from Judith and Stefan Schmitt on the requirements it is now clearer what we need. It was proposed, that gerhard Judith Stefan Schmitt and Stefan Gieseke will discuss and decide on further details.

* Discussion on MC school
  - MCnet comments: needed to make clear the role MCnet has in this MC school, providing most of the speakers. This is now mentioned on the web-page.
  - Question from WHIZARD authors whether to include WHIZARD in thsi school. Since this school is focussed on multi-purpose generatros in the areas of QCD with emphasis on parton showers, higher orders and hadronsiation, it was felt, that WHIZARD should be mentioned in the intro of course, but being presented in one of the ext MC schools, which deals with specific generators.

* status report on GENSER mirror at DESY
  Serguei reported on his 1st steps to install GENSER at DESY. The installation is in progress. Now disk space on afs is needed, we will use the naf cell for that. In the meantime discussions with IT started on the directory structre for the anacenter and the mc group.
