Dear MC-groupies,

here comes a short summary of our MC group meeting on 17.Jan 2008 (my tranparencies are attached).

Work planning:
- MC school:
 The new date for the MC school will be 21-25 April. (to be checked with hostel)
 The program was discussed with members of the MCnet, and suggestions are included. A new draft is attached. Please have a look and give urgent comments until Sunday (20.Jan)evening. Detailed comments and suggestions can be included later still....
As for the exercises I had the following in mind:
1. day: look at quantities which come directly from the generator, like pt of the W/Z and compare it with other generators, including PS etc... This can be done on the basis of HEPMC, and filling some root file for plotting. This will be then the same for all generators. This does not yet involve RIVET.
2. day. do some more detailed comparisons of generators and compare to data. This is then, where RIVET comes into the game.
We will call for applications to this school and require a school-fee of 30 Euro (to be agreed with other schools).

- MC planning:
* investigate the possibilities to mirror GENSER at DESY (S. Levonian will look into this). The idea is to mirror only the libraries and execuatbeles, not all the cvs sources, they should stay at CERN.
* HEPMC interface to all GENSER generators: Judith will collect infos, what is already existing and what is needed for such a interface.
* Fitting procedure: will be discussed in detail at next meeting

Next meeting will be on 31.Jan at 10:30 (it was agreed that we will meet on a bi-weekly basis)
