The Experimental Particle Physics Group at the Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich, Germany, has a vacancy for a Physicist or Computer Scientist to participate in Grid computing support and development within the Helmholtz-Alliance "Physics at the Terascale". The successful candidate will contribute to the development and support of the data storage system dCache which is used at the various Grid computing sites of the project partners of the alliance. A particular focus will be tests and optimizations of interactive applications, such as data access and analysis with the Proof/ROOT package. The task requires a close collaboration with the dCache support team and the software groups of the respective LHC experiments. Applicants should have a university degree (master or equivalent) in physics or informatics. Basic skills for the job are experience with analysis needs in experimental particle physics and a solid knowledge of programming and Grid computing. The position is funded by the Helmholtz-Alliance for a period of 3 years and remunerated according to the TV-L regulations for scientific employees.
