Here are the minutes of the MC group meeting on March 3, 2009.

- Announcements:
 - MC position is announced, please circulate the advertisement to those interested.
 - Dates for the next meeting still not clear, not too many filled out the DOODLE. Please do so

- PDF4MC - status report (Rico Samson-Himmelstierna)
 1st results from a PDF fit to F2 using MC generators are presented. The results are promising, giving an improved chi**2 compared to the original sets. Next steps are to include PYTHIA and all HERA F2 data-sets.
-  Comparison of different parton shower models with top pair events with CMS (Alex Flossdorf)
 Interesting comparisons with different parton shower approaches were presented. Striking differences are the Delta eta spectra of the jet in addition to the ttbar system. In the present version most of these effects are washed out after detector simulation. The same effects can be also checked with W/Z + jet production, perhaps at the Tevatron already.

Next meeting is foreseen for the week 16-20 March.
