The “Introductory School on Terascale Physics” aims at providing the essential information and techniques on the subject that bachelor and diploma students may find very helpful for a productive thesis. The programme consists of lectures and adapted computer exercises on physics, data analysis and technical issues. Examples are:
• Physics at the Terascale
• ROOT tutorial
• Standard Model electroweak processes
at LHC
• W and Z physics at the LHC
• QCD at LHC
• Monte Carlo techniques and programmes
• Top physics and searches
• Statistics
The school takes place at DESY (Hamburg) from 8-12 March 2010. For more details and the developing programme see the INDICO web page. Registration and selection for participation is via a mail to the Analysis Centre of the Helmholtz Alliance, specifying you interest and/or involvement in high-energy physics and the name of your recommending supervisor and his institute.
